Our Cleaning Standards
The Housewell Standard
“A Better Standard of Clean.” is more than a tagline. It defines how we scope the job, how we approach your home and what you should reasonably expect when you book Housewell.
Professional cleaning should leave you feeling that the job has been taken care of — not wondering what was missed.
What It Means
A cleaning standard you can actually understand.
Cleaning can become frustrating when the customer and the cleaning company have completely different ideas about what has been booked.
“Deep clean”, “standard clean” and even “full clean” can mean different things depending on who is using the term.
The Housewell approach is to make the service clearer from the beginning. We look at the type of property, the condition of the home and what you want cleaned, then match that to an appropriate Housewell service.
That means fewer assumptions, clearer expectations and a much better chance of the finished clean matching what you had in mind.
What you should expect from Housewell
You should understand whether you are booking maintenance cleaning, a one-off clean, a deep clean or another service.
Important cleaning requirements should be discussed before the job rather than assumed.
We do not want to promise deep-clean results from a service designed only for maintenance cleaning.
The aim is not to make one room impressive while obvious work elsewhere is overlooked.
If the actual property differs significantly from what was described, the right response is to raise it rather than quietly ignore it.
Six Housewell Principles
The standards behind every Housewell clean.
These principles shape how we think about professional cleaning across house cleaning, deep cleans, recurring services, moving cleans and property work.
Start With the Right Service
A heavily soiled home should not be squeezed into a routine maintenance-clean booking. The condition of the property should match the level of cleaning booked.
Clarify Before We Clean
If a task matters to you, it should be part of the conversation before the clean. Clear expectations reduce the chance of “I thought that was included.”
Clean Beyond Eye Level
A home is more than kitchen worktops. Skirting, edges, corners, doors, frames and overlooked surfaces can make the difference between cleaned and properly cleaned.
Respect the Property
Cleaning should be carried out with care around your belongings, surfaces, furniture and home environment.
Don’t Hide Problems
If access, condition, time or the scope of a job becomes significantly different from what was agreed, communication is better than pretending nothing has changed.
Finish With the Whole Home in Mind
The goal is a balanced result across the agreed areas of the property, rather than concentrating effort in one place while obvious work remains elsewhere.
Choosing the Right Clean
Standard cleaning and deep cleaning are not the same job.
One of the biggest causes of disappointing cleaning is expecting deep-clean results from a service designed to maintain an already reasonably clean home.
Maintenance Cleaning
Designed for homes that are already in generally maintained condition and need consistent cleaning to keep them that way.
Guide price: from €75Standard House Cleaning
Designed for a generally maintained home that needs a professional one-off refresh without the intensity of a full deep clean.
Guide price: from €85The Housewell Reset
Designed for homes with accumulated dirt, grime, dust and detailed areas that require substantially more attention than ordinary maintenance cleaning.
Guide price: from €219What Professional Cleaning Looks Like
We think in rooms, surfaces, edges and details.
The exact scope depends on the service booked, but these are the kinds of areas that shape the Housewell approach to a properly cleaned home.

- Sink and tap areas
- External appliance surfaces
- Hob and surrounding area where included

Deep-Clean Detail
- More extensive high and low dusting

The Details Matter
The difference is often in the places people notice afterwards.
Most cleaners can make a worktop look clean. Customers often judge the quality of the job by what happens around the edges.
Skirting. Corners. Door frames. Floor edges. Behind accessible objects. Window tracks. Bathroom fittings. Kitchen grease. Dust sitting on ledges.
That does not mean every detail belongs in every service. It means the service should clearly distinguish between routine maintenance and deeper detailed work.
“If you pay for professional cleaning, you shouldn’t be walking around afterwards finding obvious things that make you feel the job wasn’t finished.”
That is the problem the Housewell Standard is designed to address: choosing the right service, agreeing expectations and approaching the property as a complete cleaning job rather than a collection of random surfaces.
Clear Expectations
What the Housewell Standard does — and does not — mean.
A trustworthy cleaning standard should explain its boundaries as clearly as its promises.
What you can expect
Maintenance cleaning should not be confused with a detailed Housewell Reset.
Important requirements should be identified before the clean whenever possible.
If something particularly matters to you, tell us so it can be considered in the agreed service.
If the property materially differs from the information provided, that should be discussed.
The aim is to leave the agreed areas of the property properly attended to within the selected scope.
What we don’t want to overpromise
A maintenance booking cannot realistically absorb unlimited deep-cleaning tasks.
Cleaning is different from repairing, refinishing or restoring damaged surfaces.
Work requiring unsafe access or inappropriate working conditions should not be treated as normal cleaning.
Some staining, wear, damage, discolouration or aged marks may not respond to ordinary cleaning.
Specialist tasks should be discussed rather than quietly assumed to be included in every service.
Our Cleaning Process
Quality starts before anyone picks up a cloth.
Understand the Property
We start with the size, location, condition and type of clean you need.
Match the Service
We identify whether the job is better suited to maintenance cleaning, one-off cleaning, a Housewell Reset or another service.
Confirm the Scope
Important requirements and relevant details are clarified before the booking is finalised.
Complete the Agreed Clean
The cleaning is approached around the agreed service level and the areas included in the job.
What happens if the property is different from expected?
Sometimes a home requires substantially more work than the information available at the quotation stage suggested. The Housewell approach is to communicate rather than silently reduce the standard of the job.
The property may be substantially larger, dirtier or require different work from what was originally described.
Where the difference materially affects the agreed scope, it should be discussed instead of simply rushing through the property.
Depending on the situation, the scope, service level or future cleaning approach may need to be adjusted.
Professional Boundaries
Some jobs need more than ordinary cleaning.
Being clear about what cleaning can and cannot reasonably achieve is part of maintaining a professional standard.
Heavy Building Waste
Large rubble, timber, plasterboard and significant construction waste are not the same as final after-builders cleaning and may require separate removal.
Paint, Adhesive & Specialist Residue
Certain post-construction materials may require specialist methods or products and should be assessed rather than automatically treated as normal dirt.
Permanent Damage
Cleaning cannot repair scratched, damaged, worn or permanently stained surfaces.
Unsafe Heights
Cleaning should be limited to areas that can be accessed safely using appropriate methods and equipment.
Heavy Furniture
Large or heavy furniture is not normally moved as part of ordinary cleaning unless this has been specifically discussed.
Specialist or Hazardous Cleaning
Unusual, hazardous or specialist conditions may fall outside normal Housewell cleaning and should be discussed separately.
Your Priorities Matter
Tell us what matters most to you.
Every household notices different things. One customer may care most about bathrooms. Another may be frustrated by dust. Someone moving home may care about cupboards, appliances and internal windows.
If there is a specific room, surface or cleaning issue that is especially important to you, tell Housewell before the booking. It is far better to agree priorities in advance than expect the cleaning team to guess.
Clear expectations make better cleans. If You Have a Concern
Cleaning should not become harder to resolve after the team leaves.
If you have a genuine concern about the agreed cleaning work, contact Housewell and explain the issue clearly so it can be reviewed against the service and scope that was booked.
Tell Us What Happened
Be specific about the area or task you believe does not match the agreed cleaning scope.
We Review the Booking
The service booked and the agreed scope provide the basis for understanding what should have been included.
We Address It Properly
The aim is to deal with genuine cleaning concerns through clear communication rather than leaving customers unsure who to contact.
A Better Standard of Clean.
Why Housewell exists.
The Housewell Standard is not about pretending that every home is identical or that every mark can be removed.
It is about something simpler and more valuable: understanding the job, agreeing what needs to be done, choosing the right level of cleaning and approaching the property with the care and attention professional cleaning should involve.
